No matter where you are in Stapleton, you’re never more than five minutes from beautiful, green open space. The communities 80-acre Central Park is the third largest public park in Denver and includes lakes, bluffs, trees, and walking paths. Stapleton is also full of pocket parks which connect your neighbors by shared spaces. There are 25 miles of jogging and cycling paths which connect to Denver’s 850 miles of bike trails. Stapleton is home to six Denver schools that are among the finest in the country. There are also four neighborhood public swimming pools, each with a unique and spectacular water feature. The wide variety of new homes at Stapleton is truly special, ranging from stylish townhomes to magnificent custom dream homes. It’s simply a great place to live, work and play.

1. How did you choose your neighborhood? We were here for a house hunting trip and had heard lots of good things about Stapleton. We liked the vibe of the community, so it made it easy!
2. What is your favorite feature of your location? New construction – low maintenance.

4. Where is your favorite local spot? Jim-N-Nicks. I grew up in Birmingham, AL where Jim-n-Nicks is a local chain. When we were here on our HH trip, I saw it pull up on Yelp. I told David that there was no way it was the same Jim-n-Nicks, but sure enough…it was! Come to find out, Denver is the only western city where they have locations!

Baker is a historic neighborhood located adjacent to the South Platte River bordered by 6th Ave to the north, Alameda Ave to the south, Broadway to the east and I 25 to the West. An area of approximately 30 blocks in the Northeast corner of Baker was granted historic district designation in 2000 as part of the Historic Preservation effort of the City of Denver. The neighborhood includes hundreds of 19th century brick houses and 39 buildings by locally famous architect William Lang. In the 1970s, Denver named the neighborhood after Baker Junior High School (now Denver Center for International Studies) which had been named for turn of the century University of Colorado President, James Hutchins Baker, who lived in the neighborhood. Baker offers a mix of industrial, residential and commercial properties along Interstate 25, while the area along Broadway consists mostly of shops, restaurants, and offices. The former Gates Rubber factory to the south includes several big box stores and is the site of a major redevelopment project that is bringing a new look and vitality to the neighborhood. In addition, Daily Park is the second largest in the neighborhood, and Baker is served by several bus lines and two light rail boarding stations.

1. How did you choose your neighborhood? I was already living in the area as a renter. A townhome became available and I decided to buy and renovate in 2005. When my wife and I got married, we decided to stay in the neighborhood because we liked it so much.

The development of Greater Park Hill over the course of several decades created a significant diversity in its streets and the architecture of its homes. The twentieth century would see the most significant building in Park Hill during the 1920s and 30s, and again in the 1940s and 50s to meet the post-World War II demand for housing. Park Hill’s residential styles range from various Victorian forms to the Arts and Crafts homes of the early twentieth century, to modest mid-century homes constructed for new postwar families.
Today’s active families will find the charms of this vibrant community to be as compelling as ever. Park Hill’s international mix of families enjoy short strolls to some of Denver’s finest cultural attractions and shopping. On the west is lake-graced City Park, home to the highly regarded Museum of Nature and Science, Gates Planetarium, IMAX Theatre, Denver Zoo, and Municipal Golf Course. Park Hill is bordered by MLK Blvd to the north, 23rd Ave to the south, Quebec to the East and Colorado Blvd to the West. Although residents enjoy a serene lifestyle sheltered from the urban hubbub, Park Hill is just 10 minutes by car from Downtown; world-renowned Cherry Creek Mall Shopping District; and countless retail stores, restaurants, and hotels along Colorado Boulevard. Park Hill’s residents are fond of walking to Spinnelli’s Italian Market for gourmet meats and cheeses, fresh baked breads, scrumptious desserts, and more.

How did you choose your neighborhood? We wanted a home built in the early 1900s, close to all of our favorite local restaurants, and an area that was ideal for a young family.
What is your favorite feature of your location? We are very happy with our block because it has a lot of young families, like us. Seeing the neighborhood kids play outside is awesome. Also, Spinelli’s Market and the coffee shop is right around the corner from our home. It provides convenience for us when we are in a pinch and our out of town guests love it. And the small yet ever so popular Turtle Park, is perfect for our toddler to run around and play.
How long have you lived in the area? A year and a half.
Where is your favorite local spot? We have so many! Spinelli’s bakery has the best breakfast burritos, hands down. We love burgers and both Tag Burger Bar and Park Burger are both within a five mile radius from where we live.
