My Clients and Their Neighborhoods-Stapleton

stapleton

Stapleton has set a very high standard for architecture in residential, commercial and landscape designs.  What was once Denver’s old Stapleton airport is now one of the nations most celebrated new communities.  No matter what part of Stapleton you are in, you are never far from green open space. Stapleton is home to Denver’s third largest park with many additional pocket parks, along with ample shopping, dining and entertainment options in and around the large neighborhood. There is a high variety of new homes in Stapleton, from starter condos, mid-sized town homes to large, custom dream homes.  Stapleton residents reflect a wide mix, with young singles and empty-nesters joining a large number of families in this central, rapidly growing area of Denver.

Meet Jenny and Rafael Horton who live in the area:
Jenny and Raf

1.  How did you choose your neighborhood?  We have family that initial drew us to the neighborhood. But, the community feel is what really sold us. Having all the parks, pools, town center and schools was a big selling point for us.

2.  What is your favorite feature of your location?  The proximity to everything! Our kids can ride their bikes to school, jogging and biking trails are just out the door, town center is a short walk, downtown Denver is a short drive, and overall we get in our cars a lot less.

3.  How long have you lived in the area?  We have been here 2 1/2 years.

4.  Where is your favorite local spot?  Central Park for walks, Aviator pool in the summer and The Bistro on 29th for a bite to eat.

5.  Use one word to describe your neighborhood.  Community

6.  Is there anything else you wish to share about your neighborhood?  One of the things we love most about our neighborhood is how social it is. Neighbors want to know each other and hangout with each other. There is a big sense of community. It is not the type of neighborhood where you don’t know your neighbors.

My Clients and Their Neighborhoods-LoHi

Unknown

Lower Highlands, or LoHi, is one of the trendiest parts of Denver and a cool place for beating midwinter doldrums with a shot of cosmopolitan buzz. LoHi is a great place to shop, eat, stroll and relax…and especially to live. Boundaries for the area are 32nd to the North, I-25 to the East, Speer on the South, and Federal to the West, which divides LoHi from the broader “Highlands” area on the other side of Federal.  The exciting homes in LoHi, consisting of old loft buildings, new condos and apartments, and a few single family homes, appeal to a broad spectrum of buyers, from young professionals to active retirees. The neighborhood is convenient to major sports venues, including Coors Field, and Denver’s impressive cultural attractions, which are easily accessed by walking across the I-25 pedestrian bridge. In 2009, Men’s Journal named LoHi one of the best neighborhoods in the country.

Please meet Abby Richmond who loves living in the heart of the neighborhood:

My Clients and Their Neighborhoods-Belcaro

belcaro-2

Belcaro represents the first original neighborhood and is one of the most fashionable and upscale areas of Denver.  Many newer, luxurious, custom homes have popped up in Belcaro over the last several years  but most residential real estate in Belcaro includes masterfully built, vintage and well established homes. Belcaro enjoys the added distinction for being home to the renowned and historic Phipps mansion, as pictured above.  The neighborhood is centrally located, with easy access to Cherry Creek neighborhood and Cherry Creek shopping district.

Meet Juliana and Vincent DiPasquale:

 DiPasquale

1. How did you choose your neighborhood?  We were living in Cherry Creek prior and wanted to stay close by, but wanted a yard, more space and a quieter street.

2. What is your favorite feature of your location?  We really love so many things about our location its hard to pick just one; Bike path, walking to CCN, quiet wide streets, very active and friendly neighborhood. But if we had to pick it would probably be the quiet, peaceful street in a little pocket that we never knew existed.

3. How long have you lived in the area? Almost 7 Months.

4. Where is your favorite local spot?  Definitely the Bonnie Brae shopping center, home to Saucy Noodle, Bonnie Brae Ice Cream, Bonnie Brae Tavern and Katherine’s French Bakery.

5. Use one word to describe your neighborhood. Quiet

6. Is there anything else you wish to share about your neighborhood?  We looked long and hard to find the right location that still met all our criteria.  We couldn’t be more happy with where we ended up and can’t thank Erin and her team enough for all their patience, hard work and understanding.

My Clients and Their Neighborhoods-Lowry

lowry

Lowry has been transformed from the former Lowry Air Force Base into a sustainable, vibrant, mixed-use, model New Urbanist community of diverse and vibrant traditional-style neighborhoods, each offering a distinctive flare.  Lowry residents have a ton of open space outside their doorsteps, great restaurants, a thriving town center that blends traditional and contemporary designs, the John Hand Theater and the Wings Over The Rockies Air and Space Museum. Lowry is a master planned community that successfully combines the convenience of everyday needs, with easy proximity to Cherry Creek and downtown Denver.

Meet Laurel who lives in Lowry with her family:

1.  How did you choose your neighborhood?  Erin helped me narrow down my wish list and Lowry fit all our needs. Our wish list was: within our price range w. good value for the cost, great resale, safe family neighborhood, close to restaurants, parks, jogging trails, shopping areas, good schools nearby, sense of community, and not a fixer upper house. Lowry was an easy match!

2.  What is your favorite feature of your location?  Lowry has some great amenities that make living there very easy. It’s great for families, as there are a lot of kids. It is very close to great restaurants in Cherry Creek, Park Hill, and downtown. There’s a great sledding hill as well as a jogging trail that is well maintained year around.

3. How long have you lived in the area?  3.5 years

4.  Where is your favorite local spot?  There is a new dining district that has the same vibe of some hip places that would be found downtown, but they are almost walking distance from our house. It was started by the same people that do TAG restaurant on Larimer Street.

5.  Use one word to describe your neighborhood.  Welcoming

6.  Is there anything else you wish to share about your neighborhood?  People seem to love it and have a great sense of pride and ownership about living there. Many people have been in Lowry since it was first developed and they are fiercely loyal to it.

If you desire to know more about the Lowry area, please visit my website and click the “Communities” tab. If you have any neighborhood or real estate questions, I am always available at erin@ruleproperties.com or #303-324-1703.  Stay tuned for next week’s neighborhood feature.
